Growing up in Maryland, and playing baseball when I was young, it was hard not to be an Orioles fan. I have many fond memories of the trips taken by my family to watch them play at Memorial Stadium, and even more recently at the beautiful Camden Yards. During my childhood, the Orioles were also a dominant ballclub in the American League, with their last championship in 1983. Over the past few years, though, I’ve felt like the O’s have had a lot of talented players, but just haven’t been able to get everything to come together for them to be a dominant team (or at least a contender). So this year, it’s very exciting to see my team playing well, playing at the level they are capable of, and seated comfortably in first place in the American League East.

I’m not sure what that title means. I’m pretty excited that I created a very basic, yet perfectly functional plugin for my blog, though.
You’ve probably noticed the differing numbers that appear on the header image (or not, if I’ve updated the images already). I’ve created a random image plugin that will generate a random number, append it to a filename, and randomize my header! (I only expect ooh’s and aah’s from geeky types.) Being that this is my first attempt at a plugin, I’m pretty relieved that I was successful. I have LOTS of plans for the site, and it helps if you can create or understand the code that you’re working with to tweak it to your needs. The next step is replacing the placeholder images with better pics…
