I missed the Orioles game last night.
For some reason I had it in my head that they had a day off and were playing on Tuesday (today) on Comcast SportsNet. Apparently, what was supposed to be conveyed in the announcement after the last game was that the next game to be shown on CSN would be on Tuesday. They didn’t actually mention anything about a day off. But see what happens when I don’t watch!?
The Orioles winning streak ends at 8 games. Worst of all, they lost to a team in their division who is now only 3 games back. I know, there are a lot of games left to be played. Realistically, though, it’s tough for an offense to continue at such a torrid pace for any extended period of time. I’m very impressed with how these guys have played thus far, both offensively and defensively. We’ll take the loss and be ready to bounce back tonight at 7:35 pm for the start of the next streak!

It was extremely painful to watch last night’s game. We had three guys picked off on the bases last night, and in pretty stupid ways (though I really think Roberts was actually safe).
Actually, I blame it on the cold weather. We had four or five fly balls caught on the warning track, and if the weather was more in line with where it should be this time of the year, we would have had a different outcome…maybe. As long as we can take at least one game out of the series, I’ll be happy. I REALLY hope this isn’t the start of the other kind of streak…

What’s happening to our offense. Two lackluster games in a row. And the worst part is, they only needed a few runs to win both those games. Nothing worse than losing close ones, especially when your pitchers put in great performances and your offensive juggernaut can’t capitalize.
