Off and running again

The O’s played again tonight against the Kansas City Royals after taking Thursday off, and they won 3-1. Though the Royals are in a slump, it was nice to see our offense give Ponson (who pitched wonderfully) some early run support to help him cruise to his 4th win of the season.

On a related note, I’m quite peeved at the cable service (or lack thereof) from Adelphia regarding the coverage of games played by “local” professional teams. During football season, it is not uncommon to have CBS show a Colts game or no game at all instead of covering the Baltimore Ravens. As for the Orioles, the only games shown are during the week when Comcast SportsNet provides coverage. So imagine my frustration when the Washington Wizards, who are playing in the first round of the NBA playoffs, played game 6 this evening and were shown in the timeslot that the Orioles were supposed to be shown in. Why am I ticked off about that? Because ESPN was ALSO covering the Wizard’s game!

I’d just like to be able to watch my team play their games, especially when they’re scheduled to be shown, and especially since weekend games aren’t broadcast in this area. My last rant to ESPN seemed to have some effect, so hopefully Adelphia or CSN will tune in, listen up, and make a change. Help this O’s fan get his fix. :)
