I was in Washington, D.C. the past few days, so I haven’t had a chance to write anything. I was in the capital to attend the 28th Annual ESOP Conference with other individuals of the company I work for. Since I don’t plan on mixing business with pleasure, I won’t be going into any detail regarding the conference, my company, etc. But I was in D.C. the afternoon that a plane had to be ordered to land after flying too close to the White House. Apparently, the threat was deemed serious enough that the small aircraft was almost ordered shot down.
By the time we were wandering around the federal buildings that had been evacuated earlier in the day, everyone was pretty much back at work. Tensions were still running fairly high though, as evidenced by the numerous amount of armed agents still patrolling and standing guard in the area. The only good thing that came out of the evacuation earlier in the day was that the group I was with was able to waltz right in with our Senate gallery passes to sit in on the Congressional debates. Apparently, there are normally lines that form in the beginning of the day for the tours that are given, and most of the people that had been in the area earlier in the day had scattered after the evacuation order.
The most important news I have, though, deals with a certain delivery that was made to the house while I was out of town. That’s right, my iPod mini arrived! I was able to get back with enough time Friday night to quickly throw some songs on it and take it with me Saturday when Meg and I travelled to her parent’s house for a graduation party for her brother Scott. I also received a wonderful belated birthday present from my sister-in-law and her fiance, the iTrip mini from Griffin Technology. The iTrip allows me to broadcast my music from my iPod mini through my FM radio in the Jeep. Pretty slick!
Now I just need to get my music organized so that I can fill up that (seemingly) tiny 6 GB storage area on myPod.
I hope to catch-up with some posts soon, just trying to get back into the swing of things after being gone for a few days…
