O’s Boycott

I can’t take it anymore. Actually, my nerves and health can’t take it. I’m too into rooting for the Orioles, and they have really been stinking it up lately. So I’m boycotting watching them. I still wish them success this season, but I will not tune in to anymore games until they’ve won 5 games in a row (I’ll obviously have to pay attention to the scores/standings). Their next 5-game winning streak (if it even happens) will allow me to come back to watching them. The way I see it, if they’re able to roll off 5 wins, they’ll be right back in the hunt and each little game won’t matter as much. Boston has now pushed their lead in the division to 2.5 games, and the Yankees beat the O’s tonight, 6-4, to bring them one game closer (3 back from the O’s).

So that’s how it has to be for this particular O’s fan. The pitching needs to get back to where it was early in the season, and where it should be (especially the bullpen), and the guys that are slumping at the plate (or just trying to knock the ball over the fence every time) need to start producing, which means more base hits. We’ve got some hot bats right now, but unfortunately the cold bats outweigh them. So let’s go, O’s, your success will allow this discouraged fan to resume watching the game and team he loves.
