This is getting ridiculous. I am filled with so much frustration, that I could easily start spewing a bunch of choice words that wouldn’t be appropriate for younger readers. The price of gasoline around here is through the roof. Worst of all, it doesn’t seem like the price is at a legitimate level. Earlier this week, gasoline was at $2.49, which is still a lot higher then it has ever been. Suddenly, within a 2 day period, gas jumped to $3.19. 70 cents!? I know that Hurricane Katrina has had a detrimental effect on the availability of oil from the southeast, but has it really been enough to cause that much of a change in the price? Or is this just another reason for gas stations to hike the price up, especially in anticipation of the extended weekend and the likely large amount of people that will be traveling? I almost wish I had a moped…
Almost.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt this horrible. I had been looking forward to this weekend for quite some time, but instead I ended up feeling about as miserable as I have in a long while. Meg and I were headed to the Williamsburg outlets on Saturday, and then to Court and Bryan’s house in Richmond for a Labor Day weekend party. While we were wandering around the insanely crowded outlets, though, I started feeling bad. As the day went on, I started to feel worse and worse. I ended up having a fever that night, and waking up at least 20 times. I was tossing and turning all night long.

As of today, I am officially unemployed. Without work (unless you count Meg’s honey-do list). Without a job. Luckily, though, it’s really only for one day. Tomorrow I become employed again, starting a new career with a new employer, and I’m very excited about it. This is the main reason that I haven’t been posting as much lately (pretty much the past month), and why it’s taken me so long to finish the few posts that I had left as drafts. I’m not going into any detail regarding my previous employer, but I am going to miss a lot of the great people that I’ve gotten to know over the 5 years that I worked there. I wish the company the best, and I hope they’re able to continue the growth and success they’ve seen over the past couple of years. For me, though, it’s time for something new, and I’m itching to get started.

Woohoo! Major excitement for me. As mentioned before, there are two gallery alternatives that I feel are going to be great additions to any web site. And it just so happens that each of the developers have released updated beta versions of their software. Plogger beta 2 can be downloaded here, and Zenphoto beta 0.8.2 can be obtained from this link.

Meg and I had our big appointment today with our obstetrician, and we were able to see lots of great images of our baby. We were told that the baby is approximately 1 pound and 1 ounce right now, and we appear to be about 22 weeks along, based on the various measurements that were taken. Here’s the latest round of pictures:
These pictures show the baby’s face and a little curled up fist (circled in blue), and also the baby’s arm and fingers (green).
These pictures show the back of the baby with a little ear visible on the upper part of the head (red), and another look at the baby’s face (smiling for the camera
) (yellow).
We were hoping to walk away with some wonderful profile images, but our little guy/girl was moving and shaking, and just wouldn’t cooperate today. Hopefully I’ll be able to convince our doctor to try for some more detailed images at one of our next appointments.
