No more walkers and no more help, this time Maddy walks all by herself! A day after her first birthday, Maddy shocked Meg and I by taking her first few steps on her own! She was standing at the couch, trying to climb up, when she decided to turn around, and with a sly grin on her face, she took a few steps away from the couch before plopping to the floor. The first video below captures the subsequent attempts by Maddy to walk again, and the second video shows more attempts by Maddy before she takes a rough tumble and bumps her head (the video stops before the *bonk*). Way to go, Maddy!
NOTE: IE users, you may have to click on the video player once to “activate” the control. You should then be able to play, pause, etc. as you need to.

FISHERSVILLE, Virginia (CB) — After what seemed like an eternity, the owner and webmaster of the ChrisBunting.com web site and photo gallery, Chris Bunting, has finally updated his gallery with images of his beautiful daughter, Madison.
Chris added a “Life with Maddy” album, which contains various images of Madison playing, spending time with family and friends, and the celebration of her first Easter and her Baptism.
“I know, I’m a slacker,” Chris said. “I’ve always had a minor issue with time management. I blame it on all of the honey-do lists,” he quipped, referring to the varying amount of daily chores that he is assigned to do by his wife, Meghan.
“No, he’s just a slacker,” Meghan replied.

This is getting ridiculous. I am filled with so much frustration, that I could easily start spewing a bunch of choice words that wouldn’t be appropriate for younger readers. The price of gasoline around here is through the roof. Worst of all, it doesn’t seem like the price is at a legitimate level. Earlier this week, gasoline was at $2.49, which is still a lot higher then it has ever been. Suddenly, within a 2 day period, gas jumped to $3.19. 70 cents!? I know that Hurricane Katrina has had a detrimental effect on the availability of oil from the southeast, but has it really been enough to cause that much of a change in the price? Or is this just another reason for gas stations to hike the price up, especially in anticipation of the extended weekend and the likely large amount of people that will be traveling? I almost wish I had a moped…
Almost.
Meg and I had an extended weekend, heading home for the wedding celebration of Meg’s sister, Court, and Bryan. The weather was on the warm and sticky side, with an apparent threat of rain at times, but all-in-all it was an absolutely beautiful weekend for a wedding. We both took Friday off so that we could assist with last-minute preparations (though there weren’t many), and to mostly make sure that we were going to be home on time (or else we’d feel the wrath of Patty!
).
Besides Meg and I attending seven weddings this year, we’ve also had several of our friends get engaged! The next to take the plunge is my ex-roomie and great buddy, Jon. Jon asked his girlfriend Liz to do the unthinkable this past Sunday, and she said YES! The tentative date for a wedding is sometime in September of 2006. Congratulations to you two, I’m very excited about this wonderful news, and can’t wait to see you at the Buhl-Grove wedding in October! (And another one bites the dust…)
It’s (extremely close to) official! Meg scheduled an emergency appointment at the Augusta Health Care for Women today because she had been feeling some discomfort for a while, and they went ahead and performed an ultrasound to make sure everything was OK. As it turns out, everything is fine, and we have the first picture of our 8-week old baby:
