Happy Birthday, baby sister!

January 9th, 2006 Family

I just wanted to make sure I wished my wonderful sister a happy 23rd birthday today. I’m not sure if she’s ignoring my phone calls since I’m the last one to call her (I blame it on work), or because she’s out at her birthday dinner, but hopefully I’ll be able to talk to her before the night is over! ;) I hope you had an awesome day, and Nick got you something small and sparkly! :D Talk to you soon, and see you this weekend! (You heard right…call me!)

Meet the Thompsons!

July 31st, 2005 Family News

Meg and I had an extended weekend, heading home for the wedding celebration of Meg’s sister, Court, and Bryan. The weather was on the warm and sticky side, with an apparent threat of rain at times, but all-in-all it was an absolutely beautiful weekend for a wedding. We both took Friday off so that we could assist with last-minute preparations (though there weren’t many), and to mostly make sure that we were going to be home on time (or else we’d feel the wrath of Patty! ;) ).

A perfect day

May 30th, 2005 Family Me Meg

Besides the one downpour early in the morning that soaked the groomsmen (the super-smart groom had an umbrella), the day was absolutely perfect for the wedding and reception for Nick and Jen. I don’t think things could have been planned any better! I started off my day by heading over to Salisbury early (around 10:45 am) to pick-up the replacement jacket for my tux. My original jacket was a wee bit too large, causing me to look like I was swimming in it. That sounds even worse when you consider that I’m 6′3″ and 200 lbs. (I’m a hoss). ;) Since pictures were to be held at 11:00 am at Salisbury University’s rose garden, I was a little worried that I’d be late and cause everything to be pushed back (which is completely unacceptable when it’s your sister’s wedding day).

Going to the chapel

May 27th, 2005 Family

Tonight is the rehearsal and dinner, and tomorrow is the big day for my sister Jen and her fiancĂ© Nick! I’m not really able to put into words how happy I am for her and the exceptional man she’s going to marry. They are an unbelievable couple, a perfect match, and I know that they’ll enjoy many wonderful years together.
